Our History
Loupino Residences was created in an effort to preserve the local traditions of this area, which date back more than a century and at the same time honor our Grandparents who used to follow these traditions. During the tough times of uncertainty, they used to eat lupini beans, the yellow legume seeds of the genus Lupinus. These seeds were extremely bitter unless rinsed in the sea water, a common technique followed by the local residents of Mani back then. The process of rinsing the lupini beans in the salted water, used to take at least 3 months, while these were placed in big sacks. After this time, lupini beans were ready to be consumed.
